The House Slippers

The House Slippers were lying in the corner of the room and thinking about one's life. "What difficult life we have!" thought they. "When we were the span-new, the master loved us and took care of us. Now we are old and the bad-looking house slippers. The son our master uses us as a ball, the dog of our master gnaws us, even the cat our master scoffs at us," The House Slippers thought sighing quietly in their corner. "Let's go away and find the new master, who will be nice to us!"
The House Slippers were the twin brothers. The right slipper's name was Right Slipper and the left slipper's name was Left Slipper. The House Slippers were the old but still not-a-bad-looking House Slippers. Once upon a time they were a blue with a yellow edging but time made them a gray. The House Slippers were soft and good. They always endeavored to please the master. They took care of his feet, warmed and given them comfort. They were good House Slippers. But now the master does not need them. The Left Slipper was more shabby than the Right One, because their master was lame in his left leg. But The Left Slipper was more quiet and reasonable that his Right brother. He was a philosopher, if I may say it. The Right Slipper was a humourist. He never lose heart. When master's dog was playing with him, he was smiling cheerfully, though the dog was causing him pain.
The House Slippers left the house where they have lived long life. The house there was in downtown the City. Everywhere bustled about people and cars moved to and fro. The street was full of noise and the traffic. "The city is a big and dangerous. What road do we choose to don't to come to grief?" asked The Left Slipper. "I don't know. Let's go along this street. May be we will lucky," replied The Right Slipper. They went around the city and mourned over one's fate. The Old Shoemaker was coming. He was a good man and an expert at one's job. He had kind eyes a friendly smile on his face. "Where are you going?" The Old Shoemaker asked them. "We are looking for new master because our former owner no longer needs us," The House Slippers said. "People don't value old things. Unfortunately, they have got a short memory," The Old Shoemaker said with a deep sigh. "Welcome to my home! I'll repair you and give you new life! You will more beautiful than you are now."
The Old Shoemaker brought them to his house. It was a small house on the outskirts of the city. There was a small garden around home. It was an old garden, as old as its master. The Old Shoemaker loved his home, an old garden, the birds who sang him the songs and people who loved to visit him. He was realy good man. The House Slippers were happy. They have found new master and new home at last!
Do you think that the old things can not speak? This is not! Things, animals, trees, flowers talk to each other and even write poetry. The old things can tell you many interesting and instructive stories. You should only be able to hear them.
